If you’re a speaker of any description (think podcast host or guest; workshop facilitator; trainer; or speaker at events, you want your speaking to do three key things:
Firstly, you want your message to resonate and be relatable, ideally encouraging your audience to create a shift – in their emotional state, in their behaviour, in their thinking and/or in who they’re being
Secondly, sometimes you may want them to take specific action – to follow you on Insta, sign up for your newsletter or engage you as their coach, consultant, creative or expert.
Thirdly, be engaging so they’re paying attention, and be memorable
Human Design is an incredible tool that only requires your date of birth, city of birth and time of birth to create a detailed, highly specific and accurate roadmap to who you are, what’s most natural for you, and how to harness your specific gifts, strengths, talents, magnetism and essence so that, when you align with this, people feel it; they want to work with you. They crave more. They see that you’re in integrity and being authentic. And for you? Well, your impact is going to take off.
Here are some ways that female founders can connect with their innate nature for a more magnetic, impactful, and elevated speaking experience for their audience that feels more easeful, natural, and ‘right’ for them. Cookie-cutter strategies and techniques are gone. We’re here for the things that work best for YOU.
Your Type is the first piece of your Human Design to understand and align with. There are 5 different Types and they reveal how we use our energy best, how to attract the most incredible opportunities and how to know when we’re on the right track (versus off track).
If you don’t know your Human Design, you can look it up here , take note of your ‘Type’ and then come back for some practical ways to utilise this in your speaking.
Generators:
As a Generator, let your passion and excitement shine through in your words and body language. Given your Strategy is to Wait to Respond, you will attract the best opportunities when you show up and do the things that light you up. This will naturally magnetise opportunities to you because your excitement and energy is infectious. Create content based on what you’re responding to eg a story; experience; learning or interaction in your external world (rather than sitting there trying to come up with content from in your head).
Manifesting Generators:
As a Manifesting Generator, give yourself permission to embrace any and all of the things that bring you satisfaction. Notice if you have a tendency to put yourself in a box and limit yourself. You may like lots of different types of speaking. Have some support to ensure you haven’t worked so fast that you’ve missed key content or part of the process. Let go of what’s not longer bringing joy so that you amplify your magnetism.
Projectors:
As a Projector, speak to audiences that you know will see you, appreciate you and value the wisdom you have to share. Ensure you lean into adequate rest, knowing that there is nothing to be gained by pushing through and depleting yourself. Your best ideas, insights and output will come when you’re well-rested and in your zone. Act as a guide for your audience, leading the way.
Manifestors:
As a Manifestor, permit yourself to be bold and provocative, knowing that not everyone will resonate but the right people will. Allow your innovative, disruptive nature to shine through and use your powerful voice to wait for the right time to share. Speaking from a place of pressure won’t land well.
Reflectors:
As a Reflector, allow yourself to show up in the way that feels best for you on any particular day. Share your reflections with your audience and consider including some ways that they can reflect on what you’ve shared during your event. Embrace your fluid identity instead of always trying to appear the same way.
Throat Centre:
The throat centre is the third centre down from the top of your Human Design chart. Take a look below:
With a Defined throat centre (the throat centre is shaded), you have a powerful, consistent voice. Plan your content, rehearse and allow yourself to show up in the same consistent way.
With an Undefined/Open throat centre (the throat centre is white) your message will resonate best when you ad lib. Avoid being too rehearsed. IG Lives, interviews, podcasts etc are all places where this may work well so you can speak off the cuff.
There is a lot more nuance to all of this. This includes whether you have any channels (shaded lines connected to your throat centre). These are natural strengths that you can harness. They give your voice a particular ‘flavour’ eg being connected to your intuitive insights or sharing your ideas and perspectives. There is also your Profile (the number like a fraction on your chart). Plus your Conscious Mercury (this influences your communication) and so much more.
